In the somewhat dilapidated "Cherry Orchard" sanatorium, several nurses have been murdered. The suspects include three physicists pretending to be mentally ill: one claims to be Einstein, another Newton, and the third is the genius Möbius, who has discovered the formula of the universe. Malicious forces are after this secret, and Möbius tries to destroy the formula, but it is too late. The only true lunatic in the hospital, the deformed owner and chief doctor, has intercepted the secret under the guise of Solomon. The physicists are then branded as insane murderers...
